Kushagra Vaid

Kushagra is a Partner at Eclipse Ventures, an early-stage VC firm who makes investments in next generation Cloud and Edge infrastructure companies.

Previously, as VP and Distinguished Engineer in Microsoft’s Azure Division, Kushagra was responsible for vision, strategy and execution for cloud-datacenter infrastructure.

Prior to Microsoft, Kushgra was a Principal Engineer at Intel.

Kushagra is on the industry advisory board for the Computer Science Department at SUNY Binghamton, where he earned his Master of Science degree. He is credited with more than 30 patents.

Pete Rodriguez

CEO, Silicon Catalyst

He was formerly VP and GM of Interface and Power at NXP and prior to that, CEO of Exar Corporation, CEO of Xpedion Design Systems. He also held key business and technical roles at Virage Logic, LSI logic and Aerojet Electronic Systems.

Pete is a graduate in strategy and policy from the Naval War College, holds an MBA from Pepperdine University, an MSEE from Cal Poly Pomona, and a BS in Chemical Engineering from the California Institute of Technology. He serves on a number of public, private, advisory and non-profit boards of directors.

Cheng Wu

Speaker Bios

Cheng is a successful serial entrepreneur and well-acclaimed industry veteran, having founded and led numerous businesses spanning a range of different industries.

His entrepreneurship began in 1995. He founded Arris Networks, a startup that developed high-density Internet access products that was acquired by Cascade Communications for $217M in May 1996. In 1997 he founded ArrowPoint Communications, where he served as CEO, leading the company to a successful IPO and was acquired by Cisco Systems for US$5.7 billion in 2000. Through this acquisition, he joined Cisco Systems and held various positions, including Group VP. In 2002, he founded Acopia Networks with US$65M and was acquired by F5 Networks for US$210M in 2007. In the same year, Wu founded Azuki Systems with US$6M specializing in broadband wireless multimedia data transfer software, which was subsequently acquired by Ericsson for US$100M in February 2014.

Mr. Wu has a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from ChiaoTung University, Taiwan (1972, BS), and a master's degree in computer science from Indiana University in 1977.

Andrew Kau

Partner, Walden International

Speaker Bios

Andrew’s venture capital career has focused on emerging technologies. He joined Walden International in 1994 and holds investments in well over 30 companies across the U.S. and Asia.

Prior to this, he was president of chemical Technologies Ventures, and served as a management consultant at Strategic Planning Associates and Booz Allen Hamilton. Earlier in his career, he was a research scientist at Systems Planning Corporation.

Andrew holds a Bachelor’s in Science degree from Brown University and an MBA from the University of Virginia.
